I think this is one Marketers have all been waiting for. The ability to schedule Instagram posts ahead of time can majorly help with work efficiency and time. Not to mention all other social channels give you the option to publish a post at a future time. Although Instagram wants to create the real-time approach and have users using the app authentically this is a HUGE game changer for businesses and influencers.

Facebook announced that it will be making changes to Instagram’s graph API which enables business profiles to schedule posts in advance, compared to the current notification to post alert. Which let’s be real didn’t help much.

Below is Instagram’s statement:

“Last year, we began the process of updating the Instagram API to the Instagram Graph API, built on the Facebook Graph API. This change helps businesses manage their organic presence more effectively. Today, we're introducing new features to the API, such as allowing businesses to schedule posts, view posts they've been tagged in and view other business profiles.”

Like I mentioned in this beginning of this blog, this is Instagram finally hearing our cries as they stated that this was the most requested new feature. We no longer have to use the alert that notifies you when to post and can actually plan ahead carving out valuable time for you to focus on other things like analytics and post performance.

In addition to this change Instagram is also featuring two new updates to schedule Instagram posts:

Business Discovery- View and discover other business profile pages and read profile info.

Mentions- Read public media that a business has been photo tagged or @mentioned in. Post comments on a business' behalf on media it was tagged or mentioned in.

This will give users the ability to manage all accounts from one dashboard. If you are like most of us and struggle to find the time to keep up with your social media marketing and Instagram business account. You’re not alone. Scheduling can help with time efficiency and a social media marketing agency can plan and schedule to make sure you are getting noticed online while you worry about your business.
